LOcHER Students participate in Parliament Week events
12-18 November 2018
The UK Parliament Week events were held from 12-18 November 2018. A number of students from the
Blackpool and the Fylde College, Derby College, and Liverpool College took part in the event and discussed
matters relating to health, safety and welfare at work. Their discussions included health and safety when using
robots.
Following their participation in the events, students provided feedback on the events. These included:

• Altogether it was well presented without being boring, thank you

• It was excellent, thank you

• It was good
• I absolutely enjoyed the seminar
83% of the participants said that they know more about how H&S safety laws are made. In addition, 83% said
they will want to increase their knowledge of the Parliamentary process.
The colleges involved were appreciative of HSE efforts to facilitate the participation of students and would
welcome similar activities in the future.
