Is your local Group interested in joining SGUK?
We are the co-ordinating body for the network of Health and Safety Groups located throughout the UK
Our mission is 'To promote health and safety by supporting a thriving national network of health and safety Groups'
Membership is free to all Safety Groups who provide a not-for-profit service to their members
Benefits of joining SGUK
- Groups are invited to enter our annual awards programme, which recognise the excellent work done by the Groups around the UK
- The awards are presented at an annual ceremony hosted by our President Lord Brougham and Vaux in the House of Lords
- We hold up to three meetings a year, including the awards ceremony and AGM these may be hosted by Groups around the UK, to which all groups are invited to send representatives
- SGUK has negotiated a number of membership benefits and discounts available to Safety Group members
- Groups who are members of SGUK become affiliate members of RoSPA, at no cost, and receive RoSPA benefits
- Group contact details are listed on the our website and are included in RoSPA's Occupational Health and Safety Journal
Support of Safety Groups UK
Building a positive relationship between SGUK and the Groups
SGUK works to support local Groups by:
- Helping to find speakers
- Promoting Groups
Exhibiting at Health and Safety events - Representing the Groups at a national level
SGUK responds to consultations and represents the Groups on national committees - Communicating latest Health and Safety news
SGUK has a partnership agreement with the HSE and is also supported by IOSH, Nebosh, IIRSM and RoSPA
How to join SGUK
Groups wishing to become members of SGUK are asked to demonstrate:
- that their purposes align broadly with our Mission
- that they are non-commercial, not-for-private-profit organisations and
- that they have appropriate governance arrangements in place
Membership is free although donations are welcome.
